The property covers 68,000 square feet. A disagreement between the casino operator and the property’s landlord grounded the entire project five years ago. The casino closed and the plans for a new hotel went unfinished. When the RAM Group closed on the property deal last year, it also signed a letter of intent with KISS. The Sun Herald released a report that the plans are moving along accordingly.
Band members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are already part of the Rock & Brews restaurant chain.
The chain is now looking to launch the Rock & Brews Casino. The venue will offer a 300-room waterfront hotel and a 40,000 square-foot casino. Other amenities could include:
A stand-alone concert venue
An outdoor themed pool
Special event and convention space
With the necessary funding in place, a ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for March 15. There is a strong possibility that multiple band members will be present. The event has been timed to coordinate with local KISS concert later that night.
Tom Moore acted as a spokesperson for RAM. He explained that site approval has been ascertained. Developers are currently meeting with the Mississippi Gaming Commission for the green light on construction plans.
The location’s short-lived run as Margaritaville Casino should fast track the whole approval process. This should also prevent any issues that may arise in completing the plans for the hotel, casino, and added amenities.
KISS has built its reputation in the rock & roll industry over an expanded time frame. The band has also developed the ‘magic touch’ when it comes to self-promotion. This has allowed KISS to fully capitalize on its fame to make this an enduring run spanning several decades.
The financial success has been substantial for the band. Moving into the hospitality sector is a natural extension. This is actually a tribute to the business sense of the band’s members. This also ensures that the group’s legend will live on past their playing days.
