The Hannahville Indian Community Tribal Council just approved a $30 million expansion project for the Island Resort and Casino. The property is located in Harris, Michigan. When Did The $30 Million Expansion of Island Resort and Casino Get Approved?

The expansion project will add 100 more hotel rooms. The plans also include a pool with “water park features.” The post included a detailed picture of an artist’s rendition of the completed plan. The new addition will connected to the south end of the current 11-story Palm Tower. There will be three guest elevators coming off a new lobby.

The top floor of the addition has been reserved for an upscale dining venue and added convention space.

Quintus 3D from Wisconsin is the firm leading the architectural and engineering aspects of the project. This firm has worked with a number of Indian tribes across the country on similar plans. Moreover, this was also the same firm that designed the Drift Spa. Other work at the Island Resort location included a new hotel lobby and retail space.

Gundlach Champion is a local Iron Mountain firm. It has been chosen to handle the actual construction management. This company built the Island hotel’s Sun Tower. Indeed, this was part of a 1998 expansion plan for the casino. It has also worked with the town of Harris on a water plant and other community projects. Many of these projects have involved the Hannahville Indian Community.

The spring of 2020 will be used to complete all the engineering plans. Ongoing bids for actual construction work will also take place at this time. Actual construction is expected to begin in June of this year.

Completion is scheduled sometime in 2021. The current casino resort offers more than 300 rooms in the hotel. Furthermore, this includes several luxury suites. Also, there is also a RV park with spots for 42 reservations.

The size of the actual casino floor tops 400,000 square feet. It houses a slot lounge and poker room. Indeed, The Table games include:

Casual dining includes Signature Subs & Pizza and The Coffee & Bakery Shop. The Custard Shop is also included in the lineup of options.

Entertainment at The Island offers a 1,315-seat venue. There are weekly bands and comedians performing in Club 41. As an added amenity for golfers, Sweetgrass and Sage Run are two 18-hole championship courses.
