There is nothing new about million-dollar jackpots in Las Vegas. The official gambling capital of the world has become notorious for seven-figure payouts at its famous casino hotel and resorts. There is a reason why Las Vegas is filled with the most glamorous and spectacular casinos in the world. For every one or two million-dollar jackpots paid out, billions of dollars in revenue is taken in.

A recent post on www.reviewjournal.com as a major source of casino news in Las Vegas detailed the latest $1 million payout. Last Friday, a visitor from Ohio walked away with $1,000,029.04 on a single $5 bet.

Sean Barry had no problem having his picture taken with the oversized check from The Venetian. The picture was prominently displayed in the post in front of the progressive Three Card Poker table where that jackpot was won. You can also see the total amount of the payout still displayed on a betting screen at that same table. The poker table game was part of The Millionaire Progressive and the jackpot was won on a $5 side bet. While playing the game, he was dealt a Royal Flush made up of clubs.

Lance Gautreaux is the senior vice president and US chief casino officer for the Las Vegas Sands Corp. He relayed an official company statement in an email as follows:

“The Millionaire Progressive has paid out more than $5 million this year. That’s five millionaires, made each from a $5 side bet. A huge congratulations goes out to all of our winners so far.”

It was also noted that The Millionaire Progressive is available on Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Let it Ride, Caribbean Stud, Crazy 4 Poker and Mississippi Stud. The Venetian and Palazzo offer the games as properties of the Las Vegas Sands Corp. Interestingly enough, the Las Vegas Review-Journal is owned by the family of Sheldon Adelson. He is the Chairman and CEO of the Las Vegas Sands. Staff writer Tony Garcia broke the news in Monday’s post.
