Penn National Gaming currently owns several casinos but the next one they open will be special for the company. Hollywood Casino Morgantown will be the first one in the company’s home county. It will also be the closest one to their headquarters. The new casino is set to open by the end of the year. It will be located at the Morgantown exit 298. that’s the spot right next to the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Caernarvon Township. The company previously planned to open the new facility by the end of 2020. A Big Investment in the New Casino
The Penn National Gaming’s investment in the 80,000-square-foot casino is worth $111 million. The gaming space will feature 30 game tables and around 750 slot machines. The casino floor will also include Barstool Sportsbook and racebook along with a betting lounge. . There will also be food and beverage options as the plans involve a restaurant and the food court. The casino size dictates its designation as a Category 4 casino or mini-casinos in PA. These types of casinos in PAhave been legalized in the state of Pennsylvania since 2017.
Ongoing Recruitment Efforts
As a part of the preparation for the big opening, Pen National Gaming is already working on bolstering its workforce. The sure sign that the plans f are moving along is the fact that the company has just opened a recruitment center for potential casino workers. The career center will operate out of Holiday Inn Morgantown. The hotel is located at 6170 Morgantown Road in Caernarvon Township.
The center will be open to all potential applicants from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The working hours are expected to even expand in the near future. Everyone interested in the job at the casino will have a chance to apply for both full-time and part-time positions. At the moment, the company is offering opportunities in several departments. Everyone interested can apply for positions in casino operations, HR, security and surveillance, food and beverage, marketing, and other sectors. To further entice potential applicants, Penn National Gaming is offering up to $1.500 of sign-on bonuses. Hollywood Casino Morgantown looks to employ close to 375 people at the new mini-casino.
Table Games Dealer School
As a part of recruitment offers the company will also organize Table Games Dealer School. These open house hiring events will also take place at the career center. They will be free of charge for the new employees and will likely start by the end of September. The events will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

In the latest press release, Erin Chamberlin, SVP of regional operations for Penn National, spoke on behalf of the company about the recruitment process. She noted that they’re eager to receive applications for the local folks in the area. The company expects applicants to mostly come from Berks, Lancaster, and Montgomery counties but applicants from the neighboring communities are also more than welcome.
