Anyone who loves gambling at a casino is always looking for an edge against the house odds. However, if you cross the line with an illegal gambling scheme, you will end up in trouble with the law.
A trio of Baccarat players went too far with their illegal gambling scheme at Encore Boston Harbor Casino. Local news sources with close ties to PlaySlots4RealMoney.com broke the story earlier this month.
Why Did Three People Get Indicted In Boston Casino Cheating Scheme?
A local casino dealer has been accused of forming a three-person team to pull off this scheme. The second suspect was a former casino dealer in Maryland. The third suspect was a card player from Philadelphia. Over the course of two nights at Encore, the trio netted $23,500 in winnings.
The trio was indited by a Middlesex County Grand Jury. The parties involved include:
- Jianming Li (age 53)
- Jun Zhang (age 41)
- De Lin (age 46)
The charges include fraud, cheating and conspiracy. Jianming Li was the dealer working for Encore. The other two men where players at the Baccarat table.
The local attorney general handling the case is Maura Healey. A official statement from the A.G.’s office read:
“It is alleged that while he was dealing the cards, Li exposed a series of playing cards, memorized them, marked them with a ‘bookmark’ card. Then used his cell phone to communicate the cards and their order to Zhang, when both excused themselves to use separate bathrooms.”
Li and Zhang are facing two counts of cheating under the Gaming Act. They are also facing two counts of conspiracy and larceny by a single scheme. Li was also charged with one count of making false statements. This was in relation to comments made to the gaming commission.
Lin is facing one count of cheating under the Gaming Act. He is also facing a single count of conspiracy. No date has been set for the trio’s arraignment.

The biggest winner this winter was Gregory L. He walked away with $25,000 as part of Encore’s Winter Wonderland Giveaway. The total prize money for this recent promotion totaled $100,000 in giveaways.
When it comes to Pai Gow Poker, Kunthea K. was at the top of the list with a $301,957 jackpot win. One other lucky guest drove away with a brand new Maserati Levante. This was part of a New Year’s New Ride promotion.
