More and more states are adding legal sports betting to their approved gambling activities. Most of the land-based sportsbooks are tied to existing casinos and horse racing tracks. The biggest growth potential in the industry could be online sports betting. These same casinos and tracks are partnering with online providers to expand those betting options as well.
One state fairly new to legal sports betting is Indiana. Taking a major step forward, BetMGM has gone live with online sports betting heading into March. Given just how big college basketball is that month, the timing could have not been better.
MGM Resorts International partnered with GVC Holdings to bring online sports betting to the Hoosier State.
GVC Holdings is a British sports betting and gambling company. Based in Douglas, Isle of Man, the company adds the online component needed to go live. BetMGM has entered the Indiana market through an access agreement with Boyd Gaming.
Scott Butera is the President of Interactive Gaming for MGM Resorts. His statements in the company release included:“Introducing BetMGM in Indiana is a significant development for Roar Digital and MGM Resorts. Indiana has a rich history in professional and amateur sports and a strong fan base. We believe that the sports betting opportunities offered by BetMGM and access to MGM’s world-class entertainment offerings and resorts will be well-received.”
Advances in online sports betting software applications have fueled the industry’s rapid growth. BetMGM is a perfect example. Features such as In-App promotions should be a big hit. Interestingly, they can tailor them exclusively to in-state bettors.
The ability to live stream international sporting events is another huge plus. This also opens the door to betting opportunities for:
- Pre Match Wagers
- Live In-Play Betting
- Expanded Player Prop Bet Options
Also weighing in was Adam Greenblatt as CEO of Roar Digital. This is the company formed by MGM Resorts and GVC Holdings’ joint venture. He stated:
“We’re excited to launch BetMGM in a state as passionate about sports as Indiana is. And, look forward to seeing fans in the state take advantage of our unique in-app offers. Indiana marks an incredibly important expansion for us as we look to solidify our presence in the Midwest. And continue to bring BetMGM to new states in the US.” Also, discover if online gambling is legal in the US over here.
This will be the third state on the list offering BetMGM online sports betting. New Jersey was the original market as the first state outside of Nevada to offer legal sports betting. Furthermore, the move into West Virginia was next in line.
Indeed, the BetMGM app is available now. Furthermore, you can download it on both iOS, and Android. Also, you can use the app on desktops and laptops. This app offers an exclusive betting engine that allows fast and easy access to placing bets. Moreover, the biggest betting entities include the major sports. These events are football, basketball, baseball, and hockey. Also available are options for betting golf, soccer, tennis and combat sports.
