Indeed, there’s a lot of buzz around the gaming community about the new slot game that has just been released by the people at Realtime Gaming (RTG). Everybody’s talking about their 777 slot machine, which incorporates the best parts of the classic slot genre with some stuff that is kind of space-age, truth be told. On the surface, it may look a little like the “one-armed bandits” of old, with Bars and Sevens the dominant symbols. But it goes beyond all that.
For one thing, it is a progressive jackpot game, which is something those old school machines never had going for them. And back in the old days, you couldn’t click the “Hold” button like you were playing a video poker game, but here you can. There are five coin levels – from a nickel up to a dollar. You can bet as much as $5 per spin. So the 777 Slot can accommodate both low and high rollers. There is one payline across in this game, and you’ve got three reels. The symbols are a single BAR, double BAR, and triple BAR, along with the seven (7) and the wild symbol.
And let’s talk about that wild symbol, which in this case is that which contains playing cards and coins. When it completes a winning combination on the payline, it multiplies the payout by 3x.
But perhaps the most exciting thing about this game is the “Hold” feature. Here is how it works – after you get a winning combination, you are going to have an opportunity to put a “Hold” on either one or two reels, in order to hold the symbols right there. And you will find that an extra amount is added to your next bet. You will confirm that. Then it’s “Hold & Spin” and hopefully you’ll win, and that win will never be less than your win that triggered the “Hold” option in the first place.
In 777 there is a Normal, High and Super bet. For Normal bets, you can get 1000x as a top payout. For the High bet, it’s 1680x. And then there is the top prize for the Super bet. It’s the progressive jackpot.

It starts at $4200 and then continues to increase. You can keep track of the figure as it increases on the top of the interface. Some Nickel slot games trigger a chance for the progressive at random, regardless of how much a player bets.
Here that’s not the case. You cannot win the progressive on the 777 unless you have a Super bet out there.
And then winning it is a big task. You have to hit three wild symbols on the payline. And understandably, the game is calibrated so that it doesn’t happen too often.
Here is a slot that is graphically beautiful, with that nice twist (on the “Hold” feature) and still with a simple enough interface to be easily digested. RTG is renowned for its proficiency with slot games, and this is a game they are extremely excited about. The early reviews have been very enthusiastic, and you’d be well-advised not to “hold” off on giving this one a go.
This used to be one of my favorites. Keep in mind, you need a big bankroll to play this making $8 bets up to $30 bets to hopefully win big. I found that it is imperative to hold bonus symbols and 7s. If you play the game with no reels you won’t win.
