The first Saturday in April was rather significant for the Comanche Nation in Cache, Oklahoma. The tribe staged a groundbreaking ceremony for its new casino project.
Several years in the making, the new casino will be located at the intersection of Highway 62 and Highway 115. The gaming facility will cover 17,000 square feet of space. The entire project will offer a convenience store and sit-down restaurant. It will house 250 ஸ்லாட் இயந்திரங்கள்.
The design of the building will be tied to the history and culture of the Comanche Nation. A central figure in that design will be Quanah Parker.
When Will Comanche Nation Break Ground For Oklahoma Casino?
The Comanche Nation Entertainment CEO is Mia Tahdooahnippah. She added her comments on the project as follows:
“We have culture and long tradition in the town. Comanche’s have been here long before the state became a state. Quanah Parker’s original home site, where the Star House was, is just a few miles right behind me up the street. So it’s a really special place to the Comanche Tribe.”
Following the recent groundbreaking, plans call for a grand opening this New Year’s Eve.
Quanah Parker was the Comanche Nation Principal Chief during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. As one of the tribe’s most famous and recognized members, he has earned his place in history. The new facility will honor the tribe’s history in the area. It will also honor their past leaders.
Parker was noted for his battles in the Red River War. This was tied to various disputes over hunting bison to the point of near extinction. He led the Kwahadi band of the Comanche Nation. They settled in the reservation at Fort Sill in ஓக்லஹோமா. This land is located about 15 miles east of Cache.
The Chief passed away in 1911 and he was buried at Chief’s Knoll at Fort Sill. He remains known as the “Last Chief of the Comanche.”
The new Comanche Nation Casino in Cache will be located about 100 miles southwest of Oklahoma City.
The primary group behind this project is Comanche Nation Entertainment. This company is based in Lawton, Oklahoma. It is responsible for managing a group of tribal casino and hotel properties in the southwestern portion of the state. Comanche Nation Entertainment is owned and operated by the .
The new casino project took several years to come together.
It will join existing casino venues in Devol, Lawton, Walters and Richards Spur. All of these gaming facilities are coming off a rough year. At one time, they were all shuttered due to Covid-19. This took place between last March all the way into June.
The Comanche Red River Hotel Casino and the Comanche Travel Plaza in Devol were temporarily closed this February. This was due to a water main break during an extended cold spell. The tribe donated the money for the repair. At that time, more than 100,000 residents were without any power.
The tribe has continued to persevere through the hard times as a vital part of the local community.
