Play’n GO breaks record for daily spins after an unprecedented number of new slot game releases

News Play'n GO releases new slots

The Swedish game studio Play’n GO is back in the spotlight after new additions to slot game series, as well as completely new game releases, have resulted with them breaking their personal record for the number of rounds played on its slot worldwide in a single day. The studio is expected to release 50 slot games in 2023, almost twice the number compared to the year before.

On November 1, Play’n GO recorded nearly a quarter of a billion rounds played on its system, which is an all-time record for the company since it was founded in 2005. Chief commercial officer Magnus Olsson (pictured) said

“continuing to break our own records is a testament to the hard work of everyone at the company at to the appetite of players around the world for our games”.

“Our titles continue to be extremely sticky with the millions of unique players who enjoy our games every single day, and with blockbuster titles like Gargantoonz still on the horizon in 2023 we may finish the year with more records set”,

Olsson added.

Gargantoonz is the upcoming release that is the continuation of the popular Reactoonz series that includes Reactoonz, Dr. Toonz, Reactoonz 2 and Gigatoonz.

On November 9, Play’n GO released a slot game called Legacy of Dynasties that expands its popular “Legacy of” series of slots that has so far included Legacy of Inca, Legacy of Egypt and, Legacy of Dead.

Play’n GO also released the Sherwood Gold slot earlier this month. The game is themed around Robin Hood, of course, and his band of merry men. Unlike all the other slots that Play’n GO released recently, this is a completely new game and isn’t part of an existing series of slots.

In October, the studio continued the Raging Rex series of slot by adding the third installment in the franchise, named Raging Rex III. The original game was launched in 2019, followed by the second title that saw the light of day in March last year.

In September, Play’n GO released a new Scales of Dead slot to the iconic Dead series that also includes titles such as Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead and the aforementioned Legacy of Dead that also belongs to the “Legacy of” series.
This is big news as it means Play’n GO is back in the spotlight again, by quantity at least. In 2022, Play’n GO has released 27 slot games and is set to increase that number to a total of 50 new releases in 2023. It remains to be seen if one or more of their slots will become big hits among players.

In October, Play’n GO signed a partnership with Betway to provide its games to Betway players, while also securing a partnership with Bet365 for its games to be made available in Greece.

The company has also announced an important partnership with BeyondPay last month. BeyondPay, an innovative tech venture, will have access to Play’n GO’s game portfolio for its multiplayer-enabled gambes collection. The deal is expected to benefit both companies.

Here is a quick breakdown of some of the titles Play’n GO has released recently.

Legacy of Dynasties

The 3×5 slot game Legacy of Dynasties has an RTP of 96.28%, which alone is enough to entice most players to start spinning the reels, and it has a maximum win of 2,300x your total bet. The slot game allows the player to explore the fascinating artifacts and relics of the Three Kingdoms in Ancient China, and the prize can be a random number of free spins generated by a spinning wheel.

Play’n GO’s games ambassador Magnus Wallentin said that “the studio wishes to bring to fans another great title to satisfy their love of Chinese history along with their passion for Ancient Chinese mythology and aesthetics”.

Raging Rex III

The third installment in the Raging Rex series is also showing a decent RTP of 96.20%, but with a maximum possible win of 30,000x. Three free spins bonuses are available: Feeding Frenzy, Survival and Hatchling Mania. Players can get up to 13 highly rewarding free spins in this dinosaur-themed game with truly stunning base game and bonus features.

Scales of Dead

In this slot game there are several elements from the well-known and hugely popular Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead and Legacy of Dead slots. The game is played on a classic 3×5 grid and the maximum win is 20,000x with an RTP of 96.21% and high volatility, unusual for Play’n GO as their slots generally have medium volatility. The game features expanding symbols and Sandstorm Free Spins.

Earlier, in July, the studio also continued the Merlin series of slots with the Merlin: Journey of Flame slot, so it seems that the continuation of existing series is all Play’n GO is doing recently. This was the fifth installment in the Merlin series.

The Swedish studio Play’n GO is working on regulated markets only so their slots aren’t available to USA players that play on offshore casinos. At the time of writing, Play’n GO is licensed to operate in New Jersey, Michigan, West Virginia and Connecticut. The most recent market Play’n GO entered was Connecticut, in February 2023.

July 2022 was the landmark moment as the company entered the regulated US online casino market. It started with Michigan, and was soon followed by the others. This allows players in select states to play titles such as the hugely popular Rich Wilde and the Book of the Dead, Play’n GO’s evergreen hit.

At the moment, the company features an ever-growing portfolio of more than 300 games that are available in over 25 jurisdictions worldwide. However, other than the Rich Wilde slot, Play’n GO is finding it difficult to produce a real hit that some of the other developers seem to do effortlessly.
