The Eastern Band of Cherokees has been in the casino resort business going back to the 1980’s. However, the Cherokees filed a lawsuit but their claim was rejected by Judge James Boasberg. He ruled that the Cherokees had not suffered any “irreparable harm” as a result of the decision.
