In Midi and Mini Baccarat, there are eight decks of cards that are shuffled and placed in the shoe by the dealer. All cards in Midi and Mini Baccarat are dealt by the Dealer.
The game begins with four cards drawn from the shoe, forming two hands: one called the Player’s hand and the other the Banker’s hand. The first and third cards are dealt and placed face down for the Player’s hand. The second and fourth cards are set face down until the Player’s hand is called. The second and fourth cards will be turned face up for the Banker’s hand at this time. The dealer will draw and display any additional cards needed to finish the hand.
The game begins with four cards drawn from the shoe, making two hands: one named the Player’s hand and one named the Banker’s hand. The player with the largest “Player” wager at the table receives and “faces” the first and third cards, unless there isn’t a “Player” wager; in that case, the dealer will also face any necessary additional cards to complete the “Player” hand.
The fourth and second cards are dealt to and “faced” by the player with the highest “Banker” bet at the table unless there is no banker bet; in which case, the dealer will also “face” any necessary additional cards.
If the point count of either hand is 8 or 9, it’s a Natural, and no more cards are drawn. The cards are distributed according to defined rules.
There are no options for drawing the third card for either the Player’s or Banker’s hands, and additional cards are drawn if required. Before the Dealer calls “no more bets,” all bets must be placed. The hand closest to nine wins and is paid at odds of 1 to 1.
The Tie bet wins if both the Player’s and Banker’s hands result in the same totals, but neither the Player’s hand nor the Banker’s hand wins or loses.
It’s important to note that a card’s face value is equal to the sum of its pip values. The ace has a value of one, while Deuce is worth two. There is no numerical value associated with any ten or face cards or any combination of them. When the total of cards reaches nine, the first digit is disregarded because all hands in Mini and Midi Baccarat must be a single-digit number from 0 to 9. So: 4 + 1 = 5, Jack + Ace = 10.
This is a side wager that can be made alongside the Player or Banker wagers. To place the bet, you must first stake money on either the Player or Banker.
