Twin River Worldwide Holdings is a gaming development company in Rhode Island. Last year, it rebranded itself as Bally’s Corporation. This followed the purchase of Bally’s Atlantic City plus the brand name from Caesars Entertainment.
One of the company’s primary initiatives this year is ths redevelopment of its various casino properties. High on the list is the former Isle of Capri in Kansas City, Missouri. Now known as Casino KC, a $40 million-dollar renovation is in the works.
Which Former Kansas City Casino Resort Is Embarking on a $40 Million Renovation Project?
Bally’s Corp. expects to break ground on this project in June. The goal is to make Casino KC more competitive in both the Kansas City metro area and nationwide as a gaming destination.
The original exterior as Isle of Capri was tied to its origins as a riverboat casino. The goal is to create a modern exterior more in line with a casino property on the Las Vegas Strip. This includes a multitude of color-changing angled patterns.
Additional amenities call for more than 35,000 square feet of retail and dining options. Construction should take more than a year to complete.
Local news sources with ties to PlaySlots4RealMoney noted that the building permit lists June 1 of this year to Dec. 1, 2022 as its anticipated work schedule. A permit was also filed on March 16 with the Federal Aviation Administration. This is due to plans calling for a 45-foot tall casino addition.
The second phase of the project is tied to a seven-story hotel with 150 rooms. There is also plans to build a 3,000-seat amphitheater to provide live entertainment. There is a provision for the expansion of the existing parking garage. Current spaces would be doubled to accommodate more than 600 cars.
The timeframe to compete the second phase of the project has yet to be determined. An artist rendering of the new casino was part of a local news station’s report. The digitally enhanced photo was provided by JCJ Architecture.
Also unique to the redevelopment plans is street car stop to allow easy access from the Kansas City downtown area.
The Isle of Capri Casino was part of Eldorado Resorts, based in Reno, Nevada. As part of that company’s merger plans with Caesars Entertainment, Twin River purchased the property last July.
To bring the property in line with its other gaming venues, the company came up with Casino KC as its marketing concept. There is speculation that it might rename most of its properties under the Bally’s brand. However, nothing has been mentioned along those lines in conjunction with the planned renovation.
Bally’s also established the Casino KC Rewards Club as a customer loyalty program. This rewards players for all their gaming activity on slots and table games. This can add up to complimentary meals, free gifts and special members-only events. Accumulated points can also be used for free play credits.
The Casino KC Rewards Club offers five select tiers from Club Level all the way up to the Chairman Level.
