Because of the progressive nature of the game, both players still won big. The four eights were still worth $75,928. All the players at that table won $1,356. All the poker players across Station Casino poker rooms playing at the time pocketed $557 each.
Interestingly enough, the winning hand only won $43,387. This is when it pays to play progressive jackpot tables with added side bets. It can act as a hedge against a possible ‘bad beat’ such as this.

Over at Binion’s in the downtown area of Las Vegas, one big winner hit $20,765.48 on the Wicked Wheel. This was the Grand Prize jackpot amount on the progressive machine.

The couple had their picture taken holding a pair of oversized checks in the keno parlor.
Four aces on a video poker machine at California Casino added up to a $10,000 win. Another jackpot at Fremont totaled ten grand.
