The Palms Casino and Resort opened its doors for business almost two decades ago in 2001. It was one of the biggest hotel properties on the Strip with 1,300 rooms. The Palms was able to quickly establish itself as a prominent player in a very crowded and competitive casino entertainment business environment.

The property was sold in 2016 to Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta for $312.5 million. It is currently undergoing the costliest renovation in the history of this gambling town to the tune of $690 million. The owners’ goal is to reestablish The Palms Las Vegas as the city’s top cultural attraction.
Plans include upgraded accommodations, five-star dining options and an art collection that is worth millions. One of the centerpieces in this collection will be Damien Hirst’s 60-foot bronze statue, “Demon with Bowl”. This piece was originally part of a Venice show in 2017 entitled “Treasures From The Wreck Of The Unbelievable”. It will now adorn the Rich Palm’s Casino’s 73,000 square-foot day spa and 29,0000 square-foot night spot called KAOS.
Hirst also designed 9,000 square-foot villa that is called “Empathy Suite”. It will be filled with his art and furniture designs. This will be the world’s most expensive suite with a weekend package starting at $1 million. For that price, you get round-the-clock butler service, a chauffeured car, access to a recording studio and a $10,000 allowance for any incidentals.More of his art can be found throughout the property. This includes a 13-foot tiger shark in the resort’s lobby bar, “Unknown”.

Earlier this month, the property’s premier at KAOS included a star-studded guest list of musical entertainers. It was headlined by Alicia Keys, Cardi B, G-EAZY, J-Blavin, Kaskade, Skrillex, Hosier and the Zac Brown Band.
Another distinction of the new Palms is “the most pools at a resort in North America”. You can also add the largest LED screen in Las Vegas at 270 feet tall.
This is all part of the property’s “Unstatus Quo” marketing campaign to separate itself from the competition. This is also part of the Palms’ reintroduction to the overall landscape of nightlight, luxury accommodations, dining and entertainment that is sewn into the fabric of this town. As a prominent player in the gambling and entertainment capital of the world, the Palms’ is now home to Drake and Cardi B as they join Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez with permanent residencies at the resort.
