As Las Vegas continues its road back to recovery, things have gotten bumpy along the way. The coronavirus pandemic is still a very dark cloud on the horizon. The crowds in town remain tempered due to continued outbreaks. However, casinos in Nevada continue to press on the best they can. More than a few visitors as well as locals have enjoyed their recent trip to Las Vegas. The best way to do that is by returning home with big wins.
At the top of the list is a bingo player at Santa Fe Station Interestingly, the big winner walked away with $135,649. While they remained anonymous, the casino tweeted out the following message:
“Congrats to the lucky guest (not pictured) who hit the jumbo Bingo progressive @santafestation for a HUGE payday this week.”
Three casino employees were pictured with the check behind the large bingo screen. That win took place on Aug. 27.
On Aug. 24, Station Casinos also tweeted out news of a big Pai Gow win.
One lucky visitor from San Jose, California is $25,026 richer these days. That winner connected on a Triple Red Hot 7’s jackpot on her first spin. She was playing slots at Binion’s in the downtown area of Las Vegas. That jackpot was collected the final weekend in August on the 29th.

“One happy & prosperous winner hit the Dragon Link Grand Progressive jackpot for $14,268! The best part is the lucky winner only bet $3.75!”
At the California Hotel, keno was the winning game of choice. A Four Card Keno player walked away with $6,400 after hitting 6-of-6 cards. The casino tweet for that win was:
“Where are our Keno fans at? This lucky guest was playing 4 card keno, betting $4. When he hit 6 of 6 to take home this $6,400 jackpot!”
In other gaming news from the past week, Nevada Sportsbooks can offer Kentucky Derby betting. The biggest race of the year takes place on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Churchill Downs in Louisville.
A contract dispute between Churchill Downs and Nevada books loomed over this year’s race. The official reason was stated as:
“In order to take action on the race, books are required by regulation to depend on results provided by licensed disseminators. An amendment to the regulation provides a revision that allows books to rely on nationally televised broadcasts for results.”
Nevada gaming commissioners decided to add the amendment for this year’s race due to special circumstances. The plan is to develop a permanent solution in the current regulation.
